Martha's Healthy Holiday Stocking Stuffers

Martha Carlin | Dec 11, 2023 |

I love stocking stuffers. In my childhood the Christmas stocking was always one of my favorite gifts. Our family had lots of traditions around Christmas stockings.  Stockings were filled with little gifts both practical and silly. So this year I wanted to put together a few practical microbiome-supporting gifts you might consider stuffing in a stocking for your loved ones!

Oral health helpers

The mouth is the gateway to the gut! Here are a few small things you might consider.

  1. Tongue scraper - this is a tool you use in the morning and evening to scrap the coating from your tongue.
  2. New toothbrush heads - for those with electric toothbrushes. These are especially nice because they aren’t cheap!
  3. Revitin Natural Toothpaste and Prebiotic - courtesy of our fan and follower Gayle Andrews, a dental hygienist and gut guru!
  4. Dental picks - there are many varieties of these. I like the wooden ones but they are hard to find. Handy to have when you can’t brush right away.

Microbiome boosters

  1. Kefir grains to start your own kefir. You can find these at Cultured Food Life.
  2. Prebiotic XOS which specifically helps feed Bifidobacteria. You can add it to your coffee or put it in a smooth or on food.
  3. BiomeAide from Tesseract if you think your loved one needs help cleaning out the bad guys.
  4. Simple Slumber - the gift of a good night’s sleep.
  5. Sugar Shift - help your loved one make the shift.
  6. BiotiQuest gift cards - so your recipient can choose whatever formula best fits their needs!
  7. Membership to Dr. Davis’ Inner Circle

Odds and Ends

  1. An organic orange to fill the toe - the gift of whole food Vitamin C
  2. Organic bee pollen - the gift of B Vitamins
  3. Organic Green tea - ECGC for antioxidants
  4. Jigsaw Health Magnesium singles - by one bag of packets and sprinkle them around to all your loved ones.

Bonus: Not for the stocking but something to bring your loved one’s along to microbiome awareness is Super Gut by Dr. William Davis!

Wishing you a happy and healthy holiday season.

With gratitude,
