Honoring John Carlin

Since founding the BiotiQuest brand I have begun to think of our many customers and fans as friends. Some who follow me closely will already be aware but it is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, John. Over the past 23 years, John inspired every step of my journey to understand Parkinson’s and to find solutions that could improve not only his life but the lives of so many others living with chronic health challenges.

John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2002, and together we embarked on a mission to ensure he could live the fullest life possible. For 21 vibrant years, he defied expectations. His dedication to health and vitality was reflected in the countless ways he gave back to the Parkinson’s community, from building exercise and biking programs to empowering others to live active, purposeful lives.

In late 2021, John contracted a severe case of Covid-19, which led to long-term health challenges. Despite setbacks, we worked tirelessly to address these issues, and he continued to inspire me with his resilience. On September 21, John suffered a pulmonary embolism that stopped his heart. Though we hoped for recovery, he passed away peacefully on September 26, surrounded by our loving family.

Many of you have asked if I will continue my work in light of John’s passing. The answer is unequivocally yes. My dedication to unraveling the mysteries of Parkinson’s and addressing the broader factors contributing to chronic health conditions remains steadfast. This mission, which began with John’s diagnosis, has grown far beyond our personal story.

John’s legacy lives on not only in the lives he touched but also in the work we’ve done together. The Sugar Shift product, which I initially created for him, was a key contributor to his stability and vitality from 2017 until his Covid illness. While it is not a silver bullet, it underscores the importance of addressing the microbiome as a part of the solution for chronic health issues.

John’s passion and courage will continue to fuel my efforts as I honor his memory by seeking answers and solutions for Parkinson’s and other chronic conditions. To everyone who has supported us over the years, thank you. Your encouragement has meant more than I can express.

I will carry John’s spirit and vision forward, working tirelessly to help others find health, hope, and vitality.
