Homemade Beef Jerky

This homemade jerky is simple to make and stores well, perfect for winter snacks or trail food.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean beef (such as flank steak or eye of round), sliced thinly against the grain
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

Instructions:

  1. Combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Add beef and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 175°F. Arrange beef slices on a wire rack over a baking sheet, ensuring pieces don’t overlap.
  3. Bake for 3-4 hours, flipping halfway through, until the beef is dry but still slightly pliable.
  4. Let jerky cool before storing in an airtight container.
